Domestic Abuse Awareness Month: Clare’s Law and Support for Patients at Risk
October is Domestic Abuse Awareness Month. practices are encouraged to raise awareness of Clare’s Law and signpost patients that are affected by domestic abuse to appropriate support services.
The Domestic Violence Disclosure Scheme (Clare’s Law) enables individuals to ask police whether a current or former partner may have a history of abusive behaviour. Applications can be made online or through the police, and concerns can also be raised on behalf of others.
