Sexual Health Week
Sexual Health Week: 9 – 15 September‘National Sexual Health Awareness Week’ provides an opportunity to highlight the importance of treating sexual health as seriously as any other aspect of health, including regular checkups, testing for HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), access to optimum contraception methods and raising awareness about issues related to healthy relationships. Talking about sex can still be quite embarrassing for some, even with advancements made to reduce stigma. But importantly, some people don’t have enough knowledge about safe sex practices or the local services our residents can access to support them. This week’s focus on raising awareness and promotion of Local Services is important: –
- Aiming to help reduce unplanned pregnancies and STIs.
- Teaches more about Sexual Health and consent.
- Can last a lifetime.
